Network Engineer

We're looking for a Network Engineer with a 'DevOps/Automation' mindset as opposed to a Cisco routing and switching skillset. More specifically, someone with strong experience in Network Automation and IaC tools such as Ansible or Terraform is a key requirement for the role.

The successful candidate will own the operational day to day nature of the RedEye network; working under the guidance of our Network Subject Matter Expert for network changes / design & Head of DevOps for day-to-day duties. The successful candidate must be within 2-3hrs travel of our Leeds datacentre (Wakefield) to enable you to visit at short notice when required. This is normally infrequent as we have remote eyes and hands from our host / provider.

We’re looking for someone who has:

• Knowledge of Juniper SRX and Cisco ASA Firewalls, F5 Load Balancers, HP FlexFabric and Juniper EX series Switches.
• A solid understanding of network concepts, Routing, Firewalls, Switching, VPN, VLANs, Spanning Tree and protocol stacks.
• Knowledge of Linux OS and DevOps working practise.
• A pro-active and flexible approach, who can work with others to solve problems and suggest process improvements for implementation.
